14. Remove the valve keys.
15. Remove the J-44228-A.
16. Remove the valve spring retainer and the valve spring.
17. Use the J 38820 and remove the seals.
18. Clean and inspect the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Cleaning and Inspection (See: Service and Repair/Overhaul/Component Service and
Inspection/Cylinder Head Cleaning and Inspection).
Installation Procedure
Important: Lubricate the valve stems with clean engine oil before installing.
