Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to SIR Caution (See: Restraint Systems/Service Precautions/Technician Safety Information/SIR Caution).
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Air
Bag(s) Arming and Disarming/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement (See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering
Column/Service and Repair/Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement).
3. Tilt the column to the CENTER position.
4. Disconnect the connectors from the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly.
5. Remove 2 pan head tapping screws from the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly.
6. Remove the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly.
Installation Procedure
Important: The electrical contact on the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly must rest on the turn signal cancel cam assembly.
1. Install the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Notice).
2. Secure by using 2 pan head tapping screws.

Tighten the screw on the top of the column to 3 Nm (27 in. lbs.).

Tighten the screw on the side to 7 Nm (62 in. lbs.).
3. Connect the connectors to the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly.
4. Install the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement (See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering
Column/Service and Repair/Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement).
5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Air
Bag(s) Arming and Disarming/Service and Repair).
