Valve Lifter Oil Filter Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the intake manifold.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil pressure sensor.
3. Important: Do not allow dirt or debris to enter the passages of the manifold. Plug as required.
Remove the oil pressure sensor (1) and washer (2).
4. Remove the oil filter (3).
5. Inspect the O-ring (4) for cuts or damage. If the filter is plugged or the O-ring is cut or damaged, replace the filter and O-ring as an assembly.
Installation Procedure
1. Important: Do not allow dirt or debris to enter the passages of the manifold. Plug as required.
Install a NEW oil filter (3) and O-ring (4) assembly.
2. Apply sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) to the threads of the sensor.
3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Install the oil pressure sensor (1) and washer (2).
Tighten the oil pressure sensor to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
4. Connect the electrical connector to the oil pressure sensor.
5. Install the intake manifold.
