Upper Control Arm Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Wheels and Tires/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (See: Wheels and Tires/Service and Repair).
3. Remove and discard the upper ball joint to upper control arm bolt and nut.
4. Separate the upper control arm from the steering knuckle.
5. Remove the wheel speed sensor wiring harness from the upper control arm. Refer to Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement (See: Brakes and Traction
Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Wheel Speed Sensor/Service and Repair/Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement).
6. If servicing the left upper control arm, remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement (See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Battery
Tray/Service and Repair).
7. Gently pry out on inner fender body panel to access forward facing bolt.
