Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Service and Repair
Do not attempt to remove the electric cooling fan with engine hot. The electric cooling fan operates in conjunction with engine coolant
operating temperatures. Ensure engine coolant temperature drops enough to safely permit electric cooling fan removal.
1.
Open hood and disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Disconnect electric cooling fan and thermo-switch electrical connectors.
3.
Remove electric cooling fan-to-radiator attaching bolts. If necessary, loosen radiator attaching bolts and move radiator back to allow
sufficient clearance for fan removal. On some models it also may be necessary to disconnect radiator hose(s) to allow sufficient clearance
for fan removal.
4.
Remove electric cooling fan from vehicle.
5.
Reverse procedure to install.
