900 L4-2118cc 2.1L DOHC (1992)
The passive belt system used on certain 1987-89 900 models draws a minor amount of electrical current when the car is parked. In certain cases this
current draw may be sufficient to completely discharge the battery if the car has not been driven for a week or more, depending on the total current draw
of all the systems in the car and the condition of the battery.
To remedy such cases where the minor current draw results in battery discharge, a kit has been developed which includes a time delay relay to cut off
power to the passive belt system approximately 10 minutes after switching off the ignition.
PSI 12/91-0166 introduces the passive belt relay kit, has the installation instructions attached for reference and includes two additional steps that were
not in the instructions.
Running Change:Expanding Rivet In Lower Dash Panel
A new expanding rivet has been introduced into late 1991 9000 production. This rivet replaces the previous screw-type fastener and will hold more
securely as well as be easier to install and remove.

Saab Car Computer (SCC)
The Saab Car Computer (SCC) can be installed on any 9000 that has the programmable EDU (all 1990- 9000 models). If you should have occasion to
install an SCC, two points that should be noted are:

You do not have to program the EDU for installation of the SCC as is necessary with the Driver Co-driver Computer (DCC).

It is not possible to calibrate the SCC to account for different tire sizes.
Heater Fan Speed Control - 9000
On 9000 models with ACC, if the fan speed should go to full high and you cannot control it manually, the fan speed control unit must be replaced. It
is not repairable. Upon installation of the new unit, please note the following:

Make sure the cooling fins of the speed control unit do not touch the evaporator or anything metal when installed.

Ensure the ground circuit through the cable harness is good. Voltage spikes can damage the transistorized circuit and render the unit
inoperative.
