Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair

1.

Remove steering column trim cover.

2.

Remove ashtray, then remove lower dash panel.

3.

Remove vacuum hose from booster.

4.

Remove wiring harness from booster.

5.

Disconnect brake lines from master cylinder.

6.

Temporarily plug these lines to avoid loss of fluid.

7.

Remove retaining clip and pin from linkage between brake pedal and pushrod to booster.

8.

Remove four bolts securing booster to bulkhead and pedal assembly.

9.

Remove booster and master cylinder as an assembly.

10.

Reverse procedure to install, then bleed brake system, refer to Brakes and Traction Control/Brakes/Service and Repair.
