NEW CYLINDER HEAD GASKETS MAKE RETORQUING UNNECESSARY
A new cylinder head gasket for 16-valve engines eliminates the requirement of retorquing the cylinder head after the engine has been warmed up and
allowed to cool down. Retorquing at 1000 miles is also unnecessary. The part number for this gasket is listed below:

Earlier type replacement gaskets for the 16-valve engine still require that the cylinder head be retorqued after the engine has been warmed up and
