Operation
The part of pictogram 213 that provides door indication informs the driver that one of the doors is not properly closed. The filament monitor included
in the pictogram circuit is discussed in a previous section.
When the ignition switch is in the drive position, the positive supply to the pictogram 213 is taken across fuse 13 and terminal +15 in the electrical
distribution box and a terminal on tachometer 110. From terminal 7 on the pictogram, the supply is then taken further through the lamps for each door
and to the appropriate door switch.
If a door is not properly closed, door switch 208 will be closed and the circuit for the corresponding lamp will be earthed, thus lighting up the lamp.
On RHD cars, cable 587 is connected to pin 10, and cable 586 to pin 9 of the pictogram.
Fault-tracing hints
The door indication will not be operative until ignition switch 20 has been set to the drive position.
1. Check fuse 13 and check that the supply to it is live.
2. Check that terminal 7 of pictogram 213 is live.
3. Check the operation of the door switches.
4. Check the connectors, wiring and earth connections.
