Idle Speed: Adjustments
Adjustment of Idling Speed (LH 2.2 with idle air control valve)
1 Remove the hose from the throttle body, open the throttle fully and wash the area round the throttle butterfly.
2 Start the engine and warm it up. It is important for the gearbox oil to be warm.
3 Slacken and adjust the throttle damper so that the throttle lever is not activated.
4 Unplug the throttle position switch connector and connect pins 1 and 2 together (simulating a closed throttle position switch, which is important
when adjusting the idling speed).
5 Remove the two throttle position switch retaining bolts and rotate the switch so that the throttle will not be activated. Check that the throttle cable
is slack and cannot activate the throttle.
6 Start the engine and run it at idling speed. Make sure that no other loads are engaged, such as Drive, NC, radiator fan, etc. Adjustment must not be
carried out when the radiator fan is turned on.
7 Connect cable 83 93 886 with switch between the test socket on the left-hand side of the engine bay and battery negative. Set the switch to ON.
