Saab Cars USA, Inc. has notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety may
exist in certain 1992-94 9000 models equipped with engine oil coolers.
On 1992-94 9000 models equipped with engine oil coolers, it is possible that in relatively minor collisions (such as with deer), where the car is hit above
the bumper at the right front. the oil cooler and/or the hoses attached to the cooler can be damaged. This may result in post-collision oil leakage onto the
exhaust manifold and risk of a fire. A special protective cover has been designed and should be fitted.

A Recall Claim may be submitted after the repair is completed with the following information:
Failure Code: 10289-31-0-1. Recall Action Code (RAC) = 3 must be used.
Operation No.: 10289 for 0.4 hr. (includes cover installation and 0.2 hr. administration time).
