An initial parts distribution up to 25% of the cars on your status list will be made beginning the week of April 4, 1994. Additional parts should be
ordered as necessary according to the pace of recall repair work at your dealership. Recall parts should be ordered using VOR ordering procedures.
If you are a new dealer and have not sold any effected vehicles, you will be shipped one of each kit to handle transient vehicles or vehicles new to your
AOR.
Action:
1.
Check that the fuel tank is not full. It is recommended that less than 4 gallons of gasoline is contained in the tank when performing this
modification.
When the customer calls to make an appointment, please ask that when they deliver the car to your dealership as little fuel is in the tank as
possible.
2.
Raise the car on a lift and remove the right rear wheel.
WARNING!
Always observe the following safety precautions when working on the fuel system:

NO SMOKING!
^
Have a fire extinguisher handy.
^
Wear eye protection.
^
Work in a well-ventilated area. Use Vapor extraction equipment if available.

Avoid prolonged skin contact with fuel and wear suitable gloves.
3.
Loosen all the clamps to the fuel line (Figure 2-A) and the ventilation hose (Figure 2-B). Pull off the hoses.
4.
Clean all hose mounting surfaces carefully.
5.
Mount new hoses and clamps.
NOTE:
Make certain the clamps are tightened to proper specification or damage can occur.
Torque specification: 2 Nm (1.5 ft.lb.)
6.
Remount the wheel and lower the car.
After the car has been modified, mark the campaign plate in position B5 using a numeral "8" punch (Saab Special Tool 02 97 713).
