The control module starts the purging phase with extremely short ground pulses, the length of which is gradually increased. This is because the lambda
control function needs time to compensate for the extra fuel. After starting, the valve operates for one minute and is then idle for one minute. After this it
operates for nine minutes and is inoperative for one minute, nine minutes and one minute, and so on.
In the event of a break (no continuity) in the valve circuit, the MIL (CHECK ENGINE) lamp will light up.
Should the valve jam in the open position, the adaptation values will be wrong and the MIL (CHECK ENGINE) lamp will light up.
