Spark Plug: Service and Repair
1. Remove the engine covers.
2. Remove the idle air control valve.
3. Disconnect the brake servo hose from the intake manifold.
4. Undo the clips securing the wiring harness to the cable conduit.
5. Remove the cable tie securing the wiring harness to the cable conduit.
6. Unplug the wiring harness connectors and remove the connectors from the cable conduit.
7. Remove the cable conduit.
8. Disconnect the HT cables.
9. Change the spark plugs, using special tool 83 94 785.
IMPORTANT: It is important to use the special tool when changing the spark plugs, as the ceramic insulator could otherwise easily be broken.
NOTE: Be sure to note how hoses, electric leads and HT cables are fitted.
To Fit
Fit in reverse order.
When fitting the cable conduit, make sure that the vacuum hose (10) is not caught under it.
Tightening torque for spark plugs: 25 Nm (18 ft lbs)
