9000 CDE V6-2962cc 3.0L DOHC (B308) (1995)
If the thermostat breaks, it is not necessary to replace it. It is then preferable to change to a hose assembly without a thermostat.
The thermostat is installed on the engine crossmember and is connected to the system between the transmission and the radiator with four hose
connections, sealed with O-rings.
The thermostat opens at 87-93° C (157-231° F) and is fully open at approx. 100° C (212° F). When the thermostat is closed, the fluid returns to the
transmission. When it is open, the fluid is led via the hydraulic hoses through the water-cooled fluid cooler to the air-cooled fluid cooler, through the
thermostat and back to the transmission.
