Transmission Cooler: Service and Repair
Radiator With Integrated Fluid Cooler
NOTE: Component identifier numbers used in the following illustrations relate to specific steps in the procedures below.
Removal
The car should be placed on a lift.
1. Remove the center and righthand panel from the spoiler.
2. Clamp the hydraulic hose from the transmission.
NOTE: Clean connections before removal.
3. Detach the hydraulic hose from the air-cooled fluid cooler (if equipped).

Catch the fluid which runs out in a receptacle.
4. Detach the air-cooled fluid cooler from the radiator frame under the engine radiator (if equipped).

Let the radiator hang from the hydraulic hose.

Collect the fluid which runs out in a receptacle and then detach the radiator from the hydraulic hose.
5. Detach the hydraulic hose from the engine radiator and the bracket for the fluid pipe.
6. Remove engine radiator, refer to Cooling Systems.
Installation
1. Install engine radiator, refer to Cooling Systems.
2. Fitting air-cooled fluid cooler is carried out in reverse order (if equipped).
3. Compensate for fluid loss in the transmission.
4. Carry out a fluid level and seal leakage check.
