Compressor Clutch: Service and Repair
Electromagnetic Clutch, Changing, Seiko Seiki

To Remove

Remove the compressor retaining screws and place the compressor on the radiator cross- member.
Protect the notch.

Undo the driver using a hexagonal key. Use utility pliers as a holder.

Remove the circlip from inside the pulley and remove the pulley from the shaft using puller 8791 287 (A).

To Install

Install a pulley.

Install the driver

Tightening torque: 15 Nm (2012 lbf ft)

and check the play between pulley and driver. Measure at three different points and calculate an average.
Average should be 0.3 - 0.6 mm.

Adjust the play between pulley and driver by changing shims on the compressor shaft.

Place the compressor in position and tighten the three retaining screws. Note that the bracket for the electrical connections is secured with the
upper left-hand screw.
