Knock Sensor: Service and Repair
Rear Knock Sensor

To Remove

Disconnect the negative battery cable or be extremely careful when removing the knock sensor as it is close to the positive battery cable adjacent to the
starter motor.

1. Remove the two bolts securing the mounting bracket for the connector.
2. Unplug the connector.

Before removing the wiring, note how the leads are run and where the cable ties, if any, are located.

3. Remove the wiring fasteners.
4. Remove the sensor retaining bolt.
5. Remove the sensor. The easiest way to remove the rear knock sensor is from above.

To Fit

Before refitting, thoroughly clean the surface of the sensor that is in contact with the engine block.

Tightening torque: 22 Nm (16 ft lbs).

Fit in reverse order.

Make sure the wiring is correctly positioned and fastened in place.
