Engine Control Module: Description and Operation
Description Of Operation, Control Module Power Supply
+30:
Current (+30 circuit) is supplied to the control module on pin 26 via fuse 23.
The control module uses this current (+30 circuit) for its memory. The engine will not start without current from the +30 circuit.
+15:
Current (+15 circuit) is supplied to the Motronic control module on pin 56 via the anti-theft alarm's control module.
When current (+15 circuit) is applied to pin 56 the control module is activated. The engine will not start without current from the +15 circuit.
NOTE: When the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position the main relay remains operated for a further 5 seconds or so if the coolant temperature
is above -4°C (25°F). At lower temperatures the main relay remains operated for about 30 seconds.
