Check that the fuses for the electrically heated rear seat are intact and live.

Plug in the Intelligent Saab Tester (ISAT) scan tool and select "READ FAULT CODES" from the menu. If any diagnostic trouble codes are
present, continue in Trouble Code Tables.

Select "READ SWITCHES" from the menu and then "REAR SEAT HEATER". Read the ISAT scan tool display.
Switch activated --> "ON"
Switch not activated --> "OFF"
If this is the case, go to point 8.

If it is not, check the power supplied to the switch by taking a reading between pin 3 of the switch connector and a good grounding point.
A reading of about 12 V should be obtained.

If it is not, check the wiring between the fuse and pin 3 of the switch for continuity/shorting.

Connect a jumper lead between pins 2 and 3 of the switch connector and repeat point 3.
If this produces satisfactory results, the fault is in the switch. Change the switch.

If it does not, connect a BOB and check the lead for continuity/shorting by taking a reading between ICE module pin 43 and switch connector pin
