Selector Shaft: Service and Repair
Selector Lever Overhaul

NOTE:  Component identifier numbers used in the following illustrations relate to specific steps in the procedures below.

Disassembly

1. Remove selector lever.
2. Press down one of the springs and remove the locking ring, lift out and save the spring and sleeve.
3. Do the same on the opposite side to remove the other spring and sleeve.

Assembly

1. Install the springs on the selector lever.

NOTE:  The 1st/2nd gears' sleeve and spring are shorter.

2. Press down the spring and the sleeve and install a new locking ring on the selector lever.

Do the same on the opposite side to install the other spring and sleeve.

Install a new locking ring.
