Symbols: Crimp Connections
Crimped Connections
To reduce the number of connectors used in the car, several crimp connections are incorporated in the wiring. They occur as fixed wiring
connections and also as connectors. The number of contacts in the connector may vary, depending on the market and car variant. The maximum
variant is always shown on the schematic. There is no pin numbering on the connectors.
The symbol used for these in wiring diagrams is shown in the adjacent illustration.

FUSES AND RELAYS
General Information About Fuses
The car's +12 V power supply is fed to the various items of electrical equipment via three main fuse boxes, one in the dashboard, one in the engine bay
on the bulkhead partition and a Maxi fuse holder in the engine bay behind the battery. Most of the fuses and relays are located in the main fuse box.
The fuses are of blade type and, together with their connecting sockets, result in a lower voltage drop than earlier types. They are also more resistant to
corrosion.
