900 Turbo Convertible L4-1985cc 2.0L DOHC Turbo EFI (1994)
Heater Core: Service and Repair
1. Install hose clips on hoses by heater core, then remove hoses from heater core.
2. Empty coolant from core using compressed air.
3. Remove glove compartment as follows:
a. Open glove compartment, then the covers to expose retaining screws.
b. Remove all retaining screws, retaining bolt and expanding rivet in front edge, then the catch from bulkhead bracket.
c. Remove glove compartment and disconnect glove compartment lamp connector.
4. Remove center console side panels, then the ignition lock cover.
5. Remove rear ashtray, then the rear air vents and cover.
6. Remove screws attaching rear part of center console.
7. Remove power window switches, then the Automatic Climate Control (ACC) control unit.
8. Remove center console.
9. Cut off cable ties and remove rear air ducts on floor in front of heater core.
10. Open cover on heater core housing, then remove clips holding hoses to heater core.
11. Remove toggle clips on side of heater core housing, then pull down hoses and remove heater core.
12. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Refill system with coolant.
b. On all models, refit pressure lid and run engine at varying speeds until radiator fan has started three more times. Switch off engine and top off
to MAX level if necessary.
