Crankshaft: Service and Repair
Crankshaft Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the engine. Refer to Engine Replacement (See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement).
2. Remove the manual transmission from the engine. Refer to Transmission Replacement (Engine and Transmission) (See: Transmission and
Drivetrain/Manual Transmission/Transaxle/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Transmission Replacement (Engine and Transmission)

3. Remove the automatic transmission from the engine with the torque converter. Refer to Transmission Replacement (Engine and Transmission) (

4. Remove the pressure plate and clutch disc. Refer to Clutch, Pressure Plate, and Pilot Bearing Replacement (See: Transmission and
Drivetrain/Clutch/Service and Repair).
5. Remove the flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Replacement (See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Flywheel/Service and Repair).
6. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair).
7. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement (See: Engine Lubrication/Oil Pan/Service and Repair).
8. Remove the oil pump module.
Note: Note the different screw lengths.

Remove the 8 bolts (1, 2).

Remove the gasket.
