Information on Aisin(R) AF 17-4 Automatic Transmission (RPO MNF) Oil Cooler Line Torque Procedure at Radiator
Models:
2008-2009 Saturn Astra
with 1.8L I-4 Engine (VIN 1 - RPO 2H0)
and Equipped with Aisin(R) AF 17-4 Automatic Transmission (RPO MNF)
Attention:
The specified torque procedure in this bulletin should be followed when installing the transmission oil cooler lines to the radiator. The
over-tightening of the oil cooler bolts to the radiator may cause internal damage to the inner transmission oil cooler tank inside the radiator. If the
internal oil cooler tank in the radiator becomes damaged, engine coolant may leak into the transmission.
The purpose of this bulletin is to inform retailers on the importance of not over-tightening the upper or lower automatic transmission oil cooler lines at
the radiator. The oil cooler line connections at the radiator should be handled with care during installation. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler

Caution:
DO NOT over-tighten the transmission oil cooler line bolts at the radiator or damage may occur to the internal oil cooler tank inside the
radiator.
The oil cooler line connections at the radiator should be tightened using the steps below.
