Fusible Link: Description and Operation
FUSIBLE LINK
The fusible link is a one-time protection device that melts to create an open if the circuit is over amperage. The link is usually four wire-gauge sizes
smaller, even though it appears larger than the circuit cable it protects. The wiring between the starter assembly and generator contains a fusible link.
