Brake Hose Replacement

BRAKE HOSE 

REMOVAL 

CAUTION:  MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON THE HOIST. TO HELP
AVOID PERSONAL INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON A HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE VEHICLE ON THE
OPPOSITE END FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED. 

1. Raise vehicle on hoist.

2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Disconnect brake hose from caliper. Plug opening in caliper to avoid fluid loss and contamination.

4. Disconnect brake hose from brake pipe. Plug opening in brake pipe to avoid fluid loss and contamination.

INSTALLATION 
 

1. Install brake hose-to-brake pipe.

Torque: Brake Hose-to-Brake Pipe: 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.) 

2. Install brake hose to caliper. When installing to caliper, use new washers.

Torque: Brake Hose to Caliper (use new washer): 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) 

3. Bleed brakes. 

NOTICE:  Before installing wheels, remove rust or corrosion from wheel mounting surfaces and brake rotors. Failure to do so can cause wheel
bolts to loosen in service.

4. Position wheel onto hub.
5. Install tire/wheel assembly on vehicle.

Hand tighten all five wheel bolts.

5.2

Use a torque wrench to tighten wheel bolts using a star pattern.
