Knock Sensor (KS) 1 Replacement

KNOCK SENSOR (KS) 1 REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Record the preset radio stations.
2. Turn the ignition OFF.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Disconnect the knock sensor 1 harness connector.
5. Release the accessory drive belt from the generator pulley and belt tensioner pulley.

6. Remove the upper generator to the engine block bolt.

CAUTION:  Ensure that the vehicle is properly supported and squarely positioned. To help avoid personal injury when a vehicle is on a
hoist, provide additional support for the vehicle on the opposite end from which the components are being removed.

7. Raise the vehicle.
