Front Seat Recliner Actuator Motor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Front Seat removal procedure in this section.
2. Remove the front seat back pad/cover. Refer to Front Seat Pad/Cover removal procedure in this section.
3. Remove the front seat back power recliner actuator motor electrical connections.
4. Remove the retaining clip from the recliner actuator shaft.
5. Partially remove the shaft then remove the recliner motor fasteners and remove the recliner actuator motor.

Installation Procedure

1. Notice:  Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners

requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use
paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint
clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid
damage to parts and systems.

Install the recliner actuator motor and the fasteners.

Tighten the seat back recliner motor-to-seat adjuster fasteners to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

2. Install the front seatback recliner actuator shaft and secure with the retainer.
3. Install the front seat back power recliner actuator motor electrical connections.
4. Install the front seat back pad/cover. Refer to Front Seat Back Pad/Cover installation procedure in this section.
5. Install the front seat. Refer to Front Seat installation procedure in this section.
