Constant Velocity Joint: Description and Operation

The drive axle assembly, Fig. 1, consists of a tri-pot joint and an outer constant velocity (CV) joint, connected to an axle shaft. The outer CV joint has
the ability to swivel, while the tri-pot joint has the ability to both swivel and move in and out. The right side of the vehicle incorporates an intermediate
shaft, allowing the left and right axle shafts to be of equal length.
The drive axle should be inspected periodically for damage and wear.
