Uneven Air Temperature Between Left and Right Heater Outlet Ducts
(Install New Heater Core Cover)
MODELS AFFECTED:
All 1991-1992 Saturns built before, and including VIN NZ147087.
CONDITION:
Some owners may notice a difference in air temperature between the air coming out of the left and right heater duct outlets.
CAUSE:
Cold and warm air moving through the HVAC module is not mixing completely.
CORRECTIVE ACTION:
Install a new heater core cover P/N 52454598 that has molded-in baffles according to the following procedure. This will mix the warm and cold air in the
heater duct before it exits the outlets.

Removal
1.
Remove left and right lower trim panel extensions by disconnecting lower Velcro(TM) fasteners and pulling out at upper clip locations.
