8. Apply low-pressure, unlubricated compressed air into upper brake fluid output port (at blind end of master cylinder bore). This will facilitate
removal of the primary piston assembly, secondary piston with seals, as well as the spring and spring retainer.
9. Clean all parts in clean, denatured alcohol. Dry with unlubricated, low-pressure compressed air. Blow out all passages in cylinder body.
10. Inspect the following:
a. Pistons and seals for nicks, cuts, cracks, wear, or corrosion. Replace all worn or damaged parts.
b. Master cylinder bore for scoring or corrosion. If noted, replace master cylinder. Do not hone master cylinder bore. Also, no abrasives should
be used in bore.
ASSEMBLE
1. Lubricate secondary seal with clean brake fluid.
2. Lubricate master cylinder bore with clean brake fluid.
3. Install spring into master cylinder bore.
4. Install secondary piston assembly into master cylinder bore.
5. Lubricate primary seal with clean brake fluid.
6. Lubricate master cylinder bore with clean brake fluid.
7. Install primary piston assembly into master cylinder bore.
8. Install retainer clip, while depressing primary piston assembly (use wooden dowel to depress piston assembly).
9. Install brake fluid.
10. Install brake fluid level sensor.
11. Install modulator and motor pack to master cylinder.
12. Install master cylinder or antilock brake control assembly.
