4. Remove heat shield rivets by grinding off the heads with a small grinder or by punching out the center of the rivet with a 3/32 inch punch. Use a
3/16 inch drill to remove the rivet head without damaging retainer hole.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the heat shields in place.
NOTE: Install the circled rivets shown first to align the shield. The shields also overlap and share some common rivets.
2. Install heat shield rivets.
3. Install catalytic converter to intermediate pipe gasket.
4. Install three intermediate pipe to catalytic converter fasteners. Torque to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
5. Check exhaust system for leaks.
