HVAC Controller Mode Lever Stuck in One Position, or is Hard to Move from One Position to Another (Replace Heater and A/C Mode Valve Housing
Assembly)
MODELS AFFECTED:
1991 - 1994 Saturns
CONDITION:
Some owners may comment that the HVAC controller mode lever does not move from one position, or is hard to move from one position to another.
CAUSE:
Cloth covering the heater and A/C mode valve housing assembly may have separated from foam backing, causing the mode lever to stick in one position
or cause it to be hard to move from one position to another.
CORRECTION:
Perform the following procedure to repair this condition.
PROCEDURE
1.
Carefully remove instrument panel accessory center trim plate assembly by pulling outward at clip locations.
IMPORTANT:
Start at the bottom and work up to top clips. Do not use instruments that may damage trim plate assembly.
