EGR Control Solenoid: Description and Operation
EGR Components.
EGR Solenoid Wiring.
EGR CONTROL
The EGR control solenoid is used by the PCM to control vacuum to the EGR valve. The PCM controls the EGR control solenoid by supplying or
removing a ground signal to the solenoid. When the solenoid is grounded the solenoid closes an internal valve. When the ground is removed, the
solenoid opens an internal valve. When the internal valve is opened, ported vacuum flows through it to the EGR valve.
LOCATION
The EGR solenoid is located on the intake manifold.
