Drive Belt Tensioner: Service and Repair

NOTE: Tensioner internal components are not serviceable, do not disassemble tensioner.
1. Unclip lower splash shield and place a 1 x 1 x 2 inch long block of wood between torque strut and cradle.
2. Remove three righthand upper engine torque axis mount to front cover attaching nuts, allowing engine to rest on block of wood.
3. Remove belt as outlined under Drive Belt. See: Drive Belt/Service and Repair
4. Remove power steering pump with bracket.
5. Remove tensioner upper and lower attaching bolts, Fig. 38.
6. Install a pry bar between steel engine mount and steel frame rail, then move engine slightly toward drivers fender, as required, then remove
tensioner.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
