SW1 L4-1.9L SOHC VIN 8 (1996)
Oil Pan: Service and Repair
1. Drain engine oil, then remove front exhaust pipe.
2. Remove right side tire, splash shield and vibration damper.
3. Loosen, but do not remove, four front engine mount attaching bolts about 1/2 inch.
4. Remove oil pan attaching bolts.
5. Pry front engine mount away from cylinder block to allow oil pan removal.
6. Using RTV removal tool No. SAE9123E, or equivalent, drive sharp edge between pan and block.
7. Drive tool around pan to shear seal, then using a suitable rubber mallet, tap pan sideways to remove.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Apply a .160 inch bead of RTV sealant to inside edge of oil pan groove.
