1. Drain engine coolant.
2. Remove air cleaner assembly, then disconnect fresh air hose at cam cover.
3. Remove PCV hose.
4. Release fuel system pressure as described under Precautions.
5. Remove fuel line bracket bolt; then, using tool No. SA9157E, or equivalent, disconnect fuel supply and return lines.
6. Disconnect throttle cable from throttle body, then remove bracket attaching nuts.
7. Disconnect the following electrical connectors:

a. Fuel injectors.
b. Idle air control (IAC).
c. Throttle position sensor (TPS).
d. EGR valve.
e. Manifold absolute pressure sensor.

8. Remove wires with tubes, the position harness onto fuel relay.
9. Disconnect and label TBI tube module assembly vacuum hoses.

10. Disconnect heater hose, then remove cylinder head coolant outlet de-aeration line fitting and clamps, then position aside.
11. Remove intake manifold support bracket to block attaching bolt, then remove accessory drive belt.
12. Remove power steering pump attaching bolts, then position aside.
13. Remove intake manifold attaching nuts, then remove manifold and gasket.
14. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten intake manifold attaching nuts to specifications in sequence as shown in Fig. 8.
