Exhaust Manifold to Front Pipe Gasket

EXHAUST MANIFOLD TO FRONT PIPE GASKET REMOVAL

1. Loosen front exhaust pipe support clamp nut and slide clamp off bracket attached to engine.

2. Remove exhaust pipe-to-exhaust manifold fasteners.

NOTE: Excessive movement of the pipe can damage the flex pipe.

3. Pull down front exhaust pipe just enough to remove gasket.

4. Remove the old gasket and discard.

INSTALLATION

Exhaust Installation

1. Install a new exhaust pipe-to-manifold gasket on the studs.

2. Install and torque the exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold fasteners.

 - Torque: 31 N.m (23 ft-lbs)

3. Install front exhaust pipe clamp support to engine stiffening bracket bolts and pipe clamp bolt, if removed.

 -  Torque Clamp Support to Engine Bracket: 31 N.m (23 ft-lbs)
 -  Torque Clamp Support to Front Exhaust Pipe: 60 N.m (44 ft-lbs)

4. Check the entire exhaust system for leaks.
