Standard: 8.66-8.74 mm (0.3409-0.3441 inch).

Service Limit: 8.61 mm (0.339 inch) min.

c. Using a micrometer, measure the journal diameter. Journal diameter standard is 28.95-28.97 mm (1.1398-1.1406 inch) and service limit is 

28.925 mm (1.139 inch) min.

d. Install the camshaft bearing caps. Using an inside micrometer, measure the housing bore diameter. Bore diameter standard is 29.000-29.026

mm (1.141-1.142 inch) and service limit is 29.05 mm (1.144 inch) max.

e. Subtract the journal diameter measurement from the housing bore diameter measurement. If the clearance is greater than maximum, replace the

camshaft and/or cylinder head. Oil clearance standard is 0.030-0.076 mm (0.0012-0.0030 inch) and service limit is 0.125 mm (0.005 inch)
max.

NOTE:  Plastigage or equivalent can be used to measure bearing clearance.
