Power Take-Off Unit (PTU) Brace

POWER TAKE-OFF UNIT (PTU) BRACE 

REMOVAL 

CAUTION:  MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON THE HOIST. TO HELP
AVOID PERSONAL INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON A HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE VEHICLE
OPPOSITE FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED. 

NOTICE:  On V6 vehicles only, disconnect negative battery cable from battery. Note radio preset stations and reset radio stations after re-connecting
battery.

1. Hoist vehicle.

2. Remove right hand axle. 
3. Remove bolts from PTU brace and engine.
4. Remove brace.

INSTALLATION 

1. Position brace to vehicle and hand start all bolts.
2. Tighten bolts from brace to PTU.

Torque:
PTU-to-PTU Brace Bolts: 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.) 

3. Tighten bolts from brace to engine.

Torque:
PTU Brace-to Engine: 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.) 

4. Install right hand axle. 
5. Lower vehicle
