Removal Procedure
Important: Identify parts as they are removed so they can be installed in their original locations if used again. When removing or installing the
rocker arm shaft assembly, do not remove the rocker arm shaft mounting bolts. The bolts will retain the springs and rocker arms onto the shaft.
1. Remove the valve rocker arm cover.
2. Loosen the adjusting nuts (217) and bolts (216).
3. Loosen the left side rocker shaft retaining bolts in sequence. Loosen the valve rocker shaft mounting bolts 2 turns at a time in sequence, to prevent
damaging the valves or rocker arms.
4. Loosen the right side rocker shaft retaining bolts in sequence. Loosen the valve rocker shaft mounting bolts 2 turns at a time in sequence, to
prevent damaging the valves or rocker arms.
