Lock Plate and Rod Replacement - Lift Gate

Removal Procedure

1. Open the lift gate.
2. Remove the lift gate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Lift Gate  (See: Interior Moulding / Trim/Trim Panel/Service and Repair) .
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the lift gate latch.
4. Disconnect the outside handle rod from the crank's clamshell-style clip.
5. Remove the crank bolts.
6. Remove the crank by sliding the latch to crank rod out of the crank.
7. Remove the lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Lift Gate  (See: Trunk / Liftgate Lock Cylinder/Service and Repair) .

8. Remove the latch bolts.
9. Remove the latch from the lift gate.
