Frame Replacement (6T70 Transmission)

Removal Procedure

1. Secure the radiator, air conditioning condenser, and fan module assembly to the upper tie bar to keep the assembly with the vehicle when the frame

is removed.

2. Install the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture  (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Engine Support Fixture) for the 3.5 L LZ4-3.5L engine or Engine Support Fixture  (See: Engine, Cooling and
Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Support Fixture) for the 3.6 L LY7 3.6L engine.

3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle  (See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation  (See: Maintenance/Wheels and Tires/Service and

Repair) .

5. Remove the engine splash shields. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement  (See: Splash Guard/Service and Repair) .
6. Remove the catalytic converters. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LZ4-3.5L)  ()Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side

(LY7 3.6L)  () and Catalitic Converter Replacement - Right Side (LZ4-3.5L)  ()Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side (LY7 3.6L)  () .

7. Remove the propeller shaft if the vehicle is equipped with AWD. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement  () .
8. Remove both left and right stabilizer shaft insulator clamps. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement  (See: Steering and

Suspension/Suspension/Stabilizer Bar/Stabilizer Bushing/Service and Repair/Front Suspension) .
