Before the applique is reinstalled, lightly sand down any rough or sharp spots on the back of the applique.
4.
Apply *3M(TM) Automotive Adhesion Promoter 06396 to the back edge of the chrome applique.
5.
Apply *3M(TM) Nameplate Repair Tape to the backside perimeter of the applique.
6.
Using a razor blade, trim the excess tape off the outside perimeter of the applique without cutting into the chrome applique.
7.
Reinstall the chrome applique, the outside liftgate handle, the emblems and the trim panel following the procedures in SI.
