Timing Chain: Service and Repair

Timing Chain and Sprocket Replacement

Tools Required

EN-47719 Tensioner Compressor

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement  (See: Timing Cover/Service and Repair) .
2. Align the crankshaft timing mark (1) to the timing mark on the bottom of the timing chain tensioner (2).
3. Align the timing mark on the camshaft gear (3) with the timing mark on top of the timing chain tensioner (4).

4. Remove the camshaft sprocket bolts.
5. Remove the timing chain, camshaft, and crankshaft sprockets.
