Repair Procedure
Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), 2006 model year Scion tC Repair Manual, Vehicle Exterior - Sliding Roof/Convertible - "Sliding
Roof: Sliding Roof Housing: Removal".
The procedure is the same for BOTH the LH and RH sides.
1.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2.
Remove the roof headliner assembly.
Refer to TIS, 2006 model year Scion tC Repair Manual, Vehicle Interior - Interior Panels/Trim - "Interior: Roof Headlining: Removal".
After removing the headliner, connect the battery and sliding roof control switch.
3.
Remove the sliding roof garnish.
A.
Fully open the roof glass.
B.
Using a T25 Torx driver, remove the screw and garnish.
