MOON ROOF TICKING NOISE

Introduction
Some customers may experience a ticking sound from the left rear roof area while driving on rough roads at low speeds. The following procedure has
been developed to correct this condition.

Applicable Warranty:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from
the vehicle's in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
Repair Procedure
Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), 2006 model year Scion tC Repair Manual: Sliding Roof: Sliding Roof Housing: Removal.
1.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner
activation.
2.
Remove the roof headliner assembly.
Refer to TIS, 2006 model year Scion tC Repair Manual: Interior: Roof Headlining: Removal.
NOTE:
After removing the headliner, connect the battery and sliding roof control switch.
