Quarter Window Glass: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

HINT:

-

Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.

The procedures listed below are for the RH side.

1. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH
2. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH
3. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION WITH COVER PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT ANCHOR BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
6. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH
7. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE NO. 1 DECK BOARD
9. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH

10. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER ASSEMBLY
11. REMOVE REAR DECK TRIM COVER
12. REMOVE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK
13. REMOVE REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSEMBLY OUTER RH
14. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK HINGE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
15. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH
16. REMOVE ROOF SIDE GARNISH INNER RH

17. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY

HINT:  Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches.

NOTE:  When separating the quarter window glass from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle's paint or interior/exterior ornaments.

a. From the interior, insert piano wires between the vehicle body and the quarter window glass as shown in the illustration.
b. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to all wire ends.
c. Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the quarter window glass.

NOTE:  Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the quarter window glass.

d. Using suction cups, remove the quarter window glass.
