Introduction
The transmission shift lever on some Scion xB vehicles equipped with a manual transmission may feel looser than other comparable vehicles when
shifting from gear to gear. If a customer complains of this condition, the transmission control shift cable assembly can be inspected and repaired using
this TSB.

Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from
the vehicle's in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
Repair Procedure
1.
Verify excessive looseness of transmission shift control lever when shifting from gear to gear.
2.
Remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly and console box sub-assembly. Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), 2004 or 2005 model
year Scion xB Repair Manual: Manual Transmission/transaxle: Floor Shift Shift Lever Assy (Mtm).
